Free Onesimus?

Sunday, August 29

From Associate Pastor Tricia Calahan

Paul's letter to Philemon, the shortest book of the Bible, was written to plea for good treatment and possible release for a slave named Onesimus. Paul argues that the relationship of Onesimus and Philemon is no longer between a slave and a free man, but between brothers in Christ. Pastor Tricia Calahan will explore this provocative text with her sermon, "Free Onesimus?" Come and join us!

Reading: Philemon 1:1-21  Read it here from Eugene Petersons' The Message
DCC follows the Revised Common Lectionary, a calendar of scripture texts for each Sunday that are shared among most mainline denominations.
